Extraction of Alignment Elements in Highway Using Virtual Reference Station by Real-Time Kinematic
Abstract
Recently, the exponential number increase in IT business has had a great effect on the civil engineering field. Among the civil engineering field, the road realm has been including the technology to research on such subjects as the SMART Highway projects.
Through the SMART Highway, the road traffic control system offers live road alignment information for the drivers.
In order to apply this kind of technology, this thesis has experimented by using the latest technology of VRS RTK the positioning techniques of the Network RTK on the roads within the Pusan Province.
First, the terms of survey operations of the reduced scale of 1:600 was met through the result of the comparison and analysis of the T․S and checkpoint. Then the alignment and end linear element were extracted in order to compare and analyzed. The results showed that the curve of the alignment was-3.339m [P is X: 0.122m Y: 0.755m difference and the VIP high of end linear element showed a difference of 0.146m. This was an improvement compared to the past research and it was proven that the VRS RTK technology is efficient in the extraction of linear elements.
It is possible and expected to utilize SMART Highway to improve the safety of traveling on the road. This will be possible because the VRS RTK is able to find the exact body positioning and it is also able to provide live road information to the drivers.
