A Study on the Effect of New Management/HRM
on the Public Nature and Working Conditions
in the Hospital

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of New Management/HRM on public nature and working conditions in the hospital.
This study focuses on giving a help to union and the hospital employer.
This study built model that there is causal relationship among New Management/HRM, public nature and working condition.
Based on the model, this study examines the effect of New Management/HRM on another variable by the hypothesis-test empirically.
To test hypotheses empirically, the questionnaire data has been collected from 21 hospitals.
And, to test hypotheses, the data was analyzed by using Regression Analysis.
Results of empirical analysis are as follow.
1) Both public nature and working condition are overall low.
And the governance of trade union, citizen and patients are low. On the other hand the governance of foundation is high.
2) Dimensions that have the significant effect on public nature in the hospital is Performance-related pay system, Using non-regular employees(directly hire, outsourcing), and BSC.
3) Dimensions that have the significant effect on working conditions is Using non-regular(indirectly hire) laborers.
4) The higher trade union participation in management of the hospital, the higher public nature of treatment, public nature of information, public nature of expense, public nature of weak person, public nature of openness, public nature of information approach.
Based on these empirical findings, this study concluded that New Management/HRM practices has the effect on public nature and working conditions.
Lastly, this study suggested the implication for employer and union in the hospital and the direction of future study.
