Analysis of Coastline Variation Using Virtural Reference Station Surveying
Abstract
To do real-time surveying at the coastline based on the virtual reference system which is more increased accuracy and rapidity than existing methods, and to analyze the shift of variation at the coastline are made an object of this study. For these processes, first of all, horizontal and vertical accuracy of VRS surveying is calculated. As a result, averages of the residual which occur in the direction of N and E are computed at -0.793m and 0.123m, as well as maximum of height difference is 0.2066m. From these, it is estimated that these result from too long distance away from the reference stations and relatively low accuracy of EGM96 model to determine height using by VRS method. And estimating the result of calibration for adjustment with the local standard, in the direction of N and E, the consequence are 0.773m and 0.141m, in the height, the accuracy is improved in 0.187m. For these, vertical and horizontal accuracy is represented within 0.02m approximately.
Moreover, to analyze the variation of the object coastline of study, the coastline data in the year 1995 and 2002 are collected and to compare and analyze these data, the coastline had moved about 29.3509m which is maximum value toward the beach from the 1995's line to the 2002's line. On the other hand, the coastline in 2002 is somewhat moved forward the open sea than in 1995's coastline, and this result is interpreted as a seasonal influence and effect of artificial influx of soil due to the data which obtained in July.
Henceforward, if mainly utilized DGPS observation stations in the part of existing ocean surveying are applied, rapid and accurate surveying will be achieved.
