Abstract
In this study, there is a purpose to analyze suitability of the EGM2008 earth gravity field model which recently makes an enormous ripple effect in relative fields. For the purpose, it is calculated that geometrical geoid height based on ellipsoidal heights and altitudes from among surveying results of integration standard points installed by National Geographic Information Institute, and with this result, the consequence of spherical harmonic analysis based on recent earth gravity field model, EGM2008, compares, analyzes and computes accuracy with several existing earth gravity fields as well as to evaluate the suitability of the calculated values. As a result, in the case of using higher analytical degree, the maximum is -0.027m, the minimum is -0.335m, the average is -0.172m, and the standard deviation is ±0.051m which is the finest result value. In the case of EGM2008 model as compared with other earth gravity models, the geoid height and variation of wave of gravity anomaly are more precise, and the distribution is so matched with Korean geographical features.
Also, to use LSC method, improving accuracy is tried based on suitability with localized vertical standards. As a consequence of this, average value and standard deviation are calculated at 0.161m and ±0.007m which values are improved, and it is concluded that the improved values are due to understanding and replacing the tendency of distinction between the geoid height based on the earth gravity model and the geometrical geoid height based on GPS/leveling.
