대학 교양수학 교과목 개인지도가 학업성취도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 논문에서는 교양수학 교과에 대한 기초학력 부진학생들의 문제해결력 향상을 위하여, 대학 교육역량강화사업의 일환으로 P대학에서 시행한 개인지도가 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 개인지도는 참여 학생들에게 수학에 대한 자신감을 가지고 다음 단계로 나아갈 수 있는 발판을 제공하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이에 따라, 담당조교는 학생이 희망하는 교과내용에 대한 기초개념을 중심으로 학생별 지도일지를 작성하면서 체계적으로 지도하려고 노력하였다.

개인지도에 참여한 대부분의 학생들은 학생위주의 1:1 학습지도로 그 내용을 정확하게 이해하게 되었으며, Webwork 시스템을 활용한 과제 수행과 Mathematica 프로그램 실습은 교과내용 이해에 많은 도움이 된 것으로 조사되었다. 그리고 개인지도 참여 학생들의 교양수학 교과목의 취득성적은 미참여 학생의 평균평점에 비해 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 평가되어, 개인지도가 학생들의 학업성취도에 긍정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 수학에 대한 기초학력 부진학생들의 학업성취도 향상을 위한 다양하고 효율적인 학습지도 방안을 지속적으로 계발하여야할 것이다.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effects of the private lessons on academic achievement in order to improve the problem-solving abilities of students who have a low level of university general mathematics. This program has been conducted from our university as a part of Education Capacity Enhancing Project. The goal of this program is that students get confidence on mathematics and possibility of progress.

For this reason, we tried to systematically teach the content of the course depended on what the students would like to study and filled out daily record of student work individually. Most students who participated in the program entirely understood the contents because of man-to-man teaching service, and practice of using Mathematica program and Webwork system has been confirmed that it's very useful measure to students learning. And also the students who attended the program scored higher than other students who didn't. Therefore, we have realized that private studying program could give students positive effects to achieve their goal. Continuously, we are going to keep developing various and efficient teaching system to help the students who don't have basic knowledge.
