생태소설에 나타난 수질오염의 양상 연구

Abstract

This paper's objective is to study the facet of water pollution shown from eco-novel. The topic of eco-novel is mostly about the restoration of the ecosystem. These are represented with detail in the facet of water pollution. In the facet of water pollution, it's represented as the characters' loss of identity and family conflict, a human mind going to waste, etc. First, -Travelling to the southern coast- is the study subject for chararcters' loss of identity due to sea pollution. This section talks about the causes of sea pollution and chararcters' loss of identity due to sea pollution. The subjec is Mr. Kim, a university student and a factory manager. Next,-Meditation about a snipe- is the study subject for family conflict due to river pollution. Here, it talks about the Itai-Itai and Minamata disease due to serious river pollution. Hence, it shows the conflict between an older brother who is trying to protect the ecosystem and a younger brother who is trying to destroy the ecosystem. Finally, -Bhaisaiyaguru isn't coming- is the study subject for the wasting of the human mind due to pollution of drinking water. This section shows the municipal authorities are criticizing that it's us who aren't doing anything about companies destroying the ecosystem, hence, allowing for corruption to occur. Also, it shows graphic images of incidents that are happening at mineral springs suggesting that wasting of the human mind has gone way past the limit. Eventually, these detailed realities shown from the facet of water pollution alarms us of the seriousness of lack of life consciousness. Also, by showing the loss of identity, family conflict and wasting of the human mind of characters in the novel it makes us aware of the importance of the ecosystem. Thus, the facet study of water pollution shown in eco-novel will act as motive in working hard to restore the ecosystem. I also hope that quality of life will improve as well.
