The Effect of Hatha Yoga Program on Working Women`s Physical Strength and Body Composition in 12 Weeks
Abstract
1) 기초체력
(1) 체전굴은 운동 전 28.20±5.02cm에서 운동 후 30.65±4.40cm으로 나타나 2.45cm 증가하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다.
(2) 윗몸일으키기는 운동 전 23.80±7.11회에서 운동 후 27.70±10.02회로 나타나 3.9회 증가하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다.
(3) 외발서기는 운동 전 50.33±27.15초에서 운동 후 86.52±16.97초로 나타나 36.19초 증가하였으며, 통계적으로도 유의하게(p< .01) 증가하였다.
(4) 제자리높이뛰기는 운동 전 24.95±3.28cm에서 운동 후 25.15±3.16cm으로 나 타나 0.20cm 증가하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다.
(5) 배근력은 운동 전 63.60±16.49kg에서 운동 후 73.09±13.83kg로 나타나 9.49kg 증가하였으며, 통계적으로도 유의하게(p< .05) 증가하였다.
2) 신체조성
(1) 체지방량은 운동 전 13.72±2.83kg에서 운동 후 13.39±2.04kg으로 나타나 0.33kg 감소하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다.
(2) 체지방률은 운동 전 24.91±3.43%에서 운동 후 24.15±2.15%로 나타나 0.76% 감소하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다.
(3) 제지방량은 운동 전 40.95±2.32kg에서 운동 후 41.84±2.56kg으로 나타나 0.89kg 증가하였으며, 통계적으로도 유의하게(p< .05) 증가하였다.
(4) 체수분량은 운동 전 29.47±1.67ℓ에서 운동 후 30.13±1.83ℓ로 나타나 0.66ℓ 증가하였으며 통계적으로도 유의하게(p< .05) 증가하였다.
(5) 근육량은 운동 전 37.80±2.12kg에서 운동 후 38.65±2.34kg로 나타나 0.85kg 증가하였으며, 통계적으로도 유의하게(p< .05) 증가하였다.
(6) 단백질량은 운동 전 8.33±0.46kg에서 운동 후 8.52±0.50kg으로 나타나 0.19kg 증가하였으나, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다.
The purpose of this study is to determine effects of the yoga exercise program on women's physical strength and body composition. For this purpose, women in their thirties who participated regularly in the yoga exercise program were tested repeatedly before and after implementing yoga asana exercise.
Physical strength and body composition elements such as flexibility, sit up, standing with one leg, jumping, back strength, body fat, body fat level, lean body mass, body water content, muscle volume, protein level were measured and analyzed.
The yoga exercise program was implementing over 12 weeks, 3 sessions a week, 90 minutes per session, with exercise intensity maintained for stimulation. For data analysis, the mean and standard deviation were estimated, t-test was carry out to test mean differences, and a comparative analysis was made for measures of the variables, thus obtaining the following results.
Physical Strength
First, As flexibility was increased by 2.45cm in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
Second, As sit up was increased by 3.9times in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
Third, As standing with one leg was increased by 36.19 seconds in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it was statistically significant(p< .01).
Fourth, As jump up was increased by 0.20cm in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
Fifth, As back strength was increased by 9.49kg in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it was statistically significant(p< .05).
Body Composition
First, As body fat was decreased by 0.33cm in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
Second, As body fat level was decreased by 0.76% in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
Third, As lean body mass was increased by 0.89kg in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it was statistically significant(p< .05).
Fourth, As body water content was increased by 0.66ℓin comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it was statistically significant(p< .05).
Fifth, As muscle volume was increased by 0.85kg in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it was statistically significant(p< .05).
Sixty, As protein level was increased by 0.19kg in comparing pre & post implementing exercise, it wasn't statistically significant.
