부모양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감의 관계

Abstract

본 연구에서는 부모양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감의 관계에 있어 기질에 따른 차이를 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 첫째, 부모의 양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감에는 어떤 관계가 있는가? 둘째, 부모의 양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감의 관계는 아동의 기질에 따라 차이가 있는가? 이다. 본 연구의 대상은 부산광역시 해운대구 소재 2개, 남구 소재 1개의 초등학교 19학급 6학년이었으며, 본 연구의 최종 분석대상은 남학생 257명, 여학생 233명, 전체 490명이었다. 연구도구는 부모양육태도 척도(박성연, 이숙, 1990), 사회적 유능감 척도(왕정희, 2001), 기질 척도(이명숙, 1994)를 사용하였으며 자료분석은 기술통계량, 평균점수 차이검증, 이원분산분석을 SPSSWIN(ver.12.0) 프로그램을 사용하여 통계처리 하였다. 연 구문제에 따라 나타난 결과를 요약해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫 째, 부모의 양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감의 관계는 부모양육태도가 애정적일수록 아동의 사회적 유능감은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 부모의 양육태도가 애정적이라고 지각하고 있는 아동일수록 대인적응성, 사회참여도, 인기도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘 째, 부모의 양육태도와 아동의 사회적 유능감의 관계에서의 아동의 기질에 따른 차이를 살펴본 결과 부모양육태도와 아동의 6개 기질 모두는 상호작용효과가 없었으며, 다만 6개의 기질 중 모의 양육태도와의 이원분산분석에서는 접근-철회성, 기분, 지속성이, 부의 양육태도와의 이원분산분석에서는 접근-철회성, 기분, 지속성, 주의집중성이 사회적 유능감의 하위변인인 대인적응성과 유의미한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was two-fold. One is to investigate the relationship of parenting behavior and social competence of children. The other is to examine the moderating effect of temperament in the relationship parenting behavior and social competence of children. The subjects of this study were 582 6th graders(boy, 257; girl, 233) who reside in Busan. Research instruments used in this study were parenting scale(Park & Lee, 1990), Social competency scale for children(Wang, 2001) and Revised Dimensions of Temperament Survey: DOTS-R(Lee, 1994). Collected data were analyzed using independent two-samples t-test and Two-way ANOVA. Findings of this study were as follows: First, social competency of children significantly differ according to affectionate parenting of both mother and father. That is, children who perceived their parent's rearing attitude as affectionate showed higher interpersonal adjustment, social participation and popularity. Second, all the temperament variables used in this study did not moderate the relationship between parenting behavior and social competency of children. Possible explanation for these results were discussed and tentative conclusion based upon the results of this study and previous studies were made. Finally, limitations of this study were described and future research direction was suggested.
