A Study on Real-time Video Service Quality in IP Networks
Abstract
Recently, the advances of network technology, multimedia, and codecs have made it possible various services including IPTV and VoIP in IP networks. Most of these services are based on real-time video and voice services and need to high level service quality as well as large bandwidth. Although the studies for QoS(quality of service) guarantee are active to solve this problem, test results for variation of real-time video service quality as QoS-guaranteed level are insufficient until now.
In this thesis, we measured and evaluated changes of real-time video service quality by guaranteeing QoS using by PSNR(peak-signal-to-noise ratio) comparisons which is the objective perceptual video quality measurement. And also, we considered IPv4 network which currently used and IPv6 network which is next generation Internet protocol. As a result, we proposed IP network to provide high quality services in reality.
