AN ANALYSIS A STUDY OF JAPANESE CULTURE EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOL
Abstract
It is the aim of learning foreign languages to be described in the 7th National curriculum that will contribute in common prosperity and peace at the East Asia by resolving misunderstanding among different cultures. That much it is emphasized to understand different cultures under policies of internationalization and globalization. Therefore this study tried to search effective teaching method on Japanese culture by analysises of the &th National curriculum and Japanese textbook of high school(1) and evaluating Japanese culture comprehension of high school students. At first for the analysis of the curriculum, I looked into the difference between the 6th National curriculum and the 7th National curriculum, and I checked the distinctive things of the 7th National curriculum. And the next step, for the analysis of the current 12 type textbook, I investigated the name, the amount, the presentation method , the introduction contents , lineup and inscription of the culture introduction section. The last, for the research of the student education state, I also investigated culture understanding state, the interest grade of the culture contents and the culture learning pathway, on a basis of the culture section of the textbook (Japanese I) which the student, of 5 high schools and of 5 industrial high schools , in the Busan city , have been studied for 1 year. Furthermore I made up questions to teachers in the relation of teaching. On the foundation of this study result, I want to present the way which Japanese education ,coexisting with the culture, should go forward. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cultural contents in the 7th National curriculum and those textbook and to evaluate Japanese culture comprehension of high school students. In conclusion, the finding of this study suggest that Japanese textbooks should contain more information of culture and correct errors of phonetic transcriptions. And Japanese teachers should guide students to learn valuable Japanese culture by searching useful blogs, information and web site about Japanese culture.
