三島由紀夫의『金閣寺』論

Abstract

Compared with the real incendiary fire in the Golden Pavilion Temple (Keumkak Temple), "the father" is highlighted by intent in 『Kinkakuzi』. This study focused on "the father" considering it. In the previous studies, the role of "the father" was intimate because his father's role was limited to the messenger of the golden pavilion. They said that the golden pavilion was derived from internal doubts of the hero regardless of his father. But they didn't noted that his golden pavilion and his father were separated from the bottom of his heart after he saw the real golden pavilion. After all, the hero recognized the beauty of it in view of the fact that his father's weakness made him feel strong. The world of weakness had something in common with the golden pavilion in view of the fact that his weakness made him feel helpless and he was protected by the world. And we recognized that the golden pavilion symbolized the world of weakness from the viewpoint of the fact that the author throw an image on in the illusion of the golden pavilion. So the incendiary fire there means the process of going forth into his inherent life out of the world of his father. As a result, could the hero who set fire to it overcome the world of weakness? This study deals with an issue through the medium of the descriptive style. It reveals that the author emphasizes that he has his own life style in the first descriptive style and he denies setting fire to it in the second descriptive style simultaneously. And I note that the author makes good use of the forces of weakness again in the second descriptive style. Accordingly, the hero of 『Kinkakuzi』can overcome the world of weakness by setting fire to it, but he can't overcome it in the real world as you recognize in the second descriptive style. But the incendiary fire is considered as one of the important barriers that he has to overcome to find out his unique life out of the world of his father. And his last confession- shows his will to live facing realty.
