소설단원 '학습활동'의 개선방안 연구

Abstract

소설교육은 학습자가 주체적이고 능동적인 감상자가 되어 각자의 심성에 따라 다양한 해석과 정서적 반응을 경험하는 것을 목표로 한다. 교과서에서 소설교육의 목표를 달성하기에 가장 적합한 모습을 취하고 있는 것이 바로 ‘학습활동’이다. ‘학습활동'은 제 7차 교육과정의 큰 특징이라 할 수 있는 과정중심, 활동중심, 학습자중심의 정신을 잘 반영한 구체적 활동자료이다. 또한 ‘창의적 국어사용 능력 향상’이라는 교육목표를 달성하기 위해 중요한 교과서의 구성요소이기도 하다. 본 연구는 중학교 국어 교과서 소설단원의 '학습활동'을 분석하여 문제점을 논의하였다. ‘학습활동’이 교육과정의 내용을 충실하게 반영하고, 영역과 단원의 목표를 달성하기에 적합하게 구성되었는지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 통해 발견된 문제점과 「2007 개정 교육과정」의 검토를 바탕으로 '학습활동'의 개선방안을 제시하는 것을 최종적인 목적으로 하였다. 구체적인 연구 대상은 2001년부터 시행된 제 7차 중학교 3학년 국어 교과서에 수록된 소설 제재의 이다. 제Ⅰ장 서론에서는 에 대한 연구의 필요성 및 목적, 선행연구 검토, 연구대상 및 방법에 대해 제시하였다. 본론이 시작되는 제 Ⅱ장에서는 분석의 기저가 되는 7차 교육과정 내 소설교육의 목표와 성격에 대해 알아보았다. 또한 교과서의 구성 및 지도내용 개괄을 통해 소설 단원의 내용구성과 활동이 가져야할 성격에 대해 논의하였다. 제 Ⅲ장에서는 본격적으로 중학교 교과서 소설단원의 학습활동을 살펴보았다. 먼저 학습활동의 성격과 구성을 알아보았다. 그 후 9학년의 3개 작품(「원미동 사람들」, 「운수 좋은 날」, 「박씨전」)을 대상으로 이 단원의 활동들을 여섯 가지 기준을 통해 분석하고 그 결과를 정리하였다. 분석의 기준은 학습활동에 적용될 수 있는 교육적 상위요소들을 바탕으로 설정하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 Ⅲ장에서 문항분석을 통해 제시한 문제점과 「2007년 개정 교육과정」의 검토를 통해 학습활동의 개선방안을 제시하였다. 마지막 결론을 통해 그 동안의 연구 내용을 정리하는 것으로 본 연구를 마무리하였다. 본 연구는 ‘학습활동’이 여러 가지 문제점과 개선의 여지가 있음에도 불구하고 ‘창의적 국어사용 능력 향상’이라는 국어 교육의 목표를 잘 드러낸 교과서의 구성요소임을 밝혔다. 교육인적자원부에 의해 2007년 2월『2007년 개정 교육과정』이 개정 고시되었고 이에 따른 새로운 교과서의 출판을 앞두고 있다. '학습활동'의 분석을 통해 교과서의 구성 및 학습자 활동에 있어 지속시켜 나가야할 점, 개선해야 할 점을 논의하는 것은 앞으로의 발전된 교육과정과 교과서의 개정을 위해 가치 있는 연구가 될 것이라고 생각된다.

‘Studying activity’ is a specific activity material which reflects the process-centered, activity-centered, and students-centered spirit that is the main characteristic of the 7th curriculum. It is also an important component of textbooks to meet the goal of 'improving the ability of using Korean language'. This study is based on the analysis of the ‘studying activity’ in middle school Korean language textbooks. The ultimate goal is finding out how to improve ‘studying activity’ through investigating the "2007 modified 7th curriculum" The Ⅰ part(introduction) deals with the necessity and aims of this study, examination of the preceeding study, the object and the method of this study. The Ⅱ part covers the aims and features of novel education in 7th curriculum. This part also involves the contents of novel units and some characteristics that must be included in the activities. The Ⅲ part embodies ‘studying activity’ in middle school textbooks on a full scale. The objects of study are 3 novels(「원미동 사람들」, 「운수 좋은 날」, 「박씨전」) of the 9th grade. I analyzed the activities based on six standards. These standards were selected based on educational components. That can be applied to ‘studying activity’. The Ⅳ part suggests the way to improve ‘studying activity’ through investigating the problems raised in the Ⅲ part and examining the "2007 modified 7th curriculum". And I finished this study by adjusting the contents. As previously stated, ‘studying activity’ is a good component of the textbooks which reflects the goal of 'improving the ability of using Korean language' even though ‘studying activity’ has some problems and should be improved. The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development notified the "2007 modified 7th curriculum" in February 2007 and the new textbooks will be published. It will be a valuable study for the revision of the textbooks and curriculum to discuss composition of textbooks, the things that should be continued in students' activities, and the things that should be modified through the analysis of ‘studying activity’.
