엘더리의 시각노화를 고려한 공공디자인의 문제연구

Abstract

Life expectancy has been improving due to improvement of living environment, decrease of birth rate and development of medical technology in recent modern societies. Accordingly, it’s speeding up that we enter into an aging society. In an aging society, it is necessary the color for public design is planned appropriately considering features for the elderly’s eyesight. Information achievement through eyesight consists of more than 80% percentage in comparison with the other senses. Deterioration of eyesight causes inconvenience for independent lives for the elderly. Fine arrangement of colors can contribute to the elderly’s safety and independent lives. This study figures out color recognition and confusion range of the elderly in aging process, find out problems of public design and consider how to cope with it based on eyesight ability for the elderly. I could approach the problem of public design with point of view from the elderly. I realize that it’s not an specific issue only for the elderly. It’s being socialized and collectivized at the same time. The significance of this paper is to bring out the problem of public design and apply it for better arrangement of colors for improvement and right attitudes towards life.
