설화 교육방안 연구

Abstract

설화는 민족의 공동생활 속에서 자연 발생적으로 형성된 구전 문학으로 과거로부터 내려온 가치와 문화가 녹아 있으며, 구비전승 과정에서 현재의 의미를 얻어가는 장르이다. 설화 교육은 설화를 학습자들에게 가르침으로써 이야기의 바른 구조와 내용을 학습자들이 깨달을 수 있게 하고, 나아가 한국인다운 삶의 양식과 조상들의 다양한 삶의 체험, 사상, 감정, 지혜, 용기, 가치관 등을 전수하는 교육적 효과가 있다. 하지만 이제까지의 설화교육은 구비문학이라는 설화의 특성을 온전히 살리지 못한 채 읽기 교재의 일부로 교과서에 수록 되어 왔다. 설화는 오랜 기간을 거쳐 많은 사람들의 삶 속에서 자연스럽게 발생되어온 이야기이다. 자극적인 이야기에 익숙해져 있는 학생들에게는 이미 알고 있거나 식상하고 진부한 이야기에 불과 할 수도 있지만, 설화는 단순한 흥미 위주의 옛이야기만은 아니다. 그것은 우리 민족의 숨결과 삶의 진리와 다양한 교훈을 담고 있으며, 조상들의 지혜와 세상을 바라보는 안목이 응집되어 있는 삶의 총체라 할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 설화는 어린이나 초등학생들에게만 유용한 것이 아니라, 남녀노소를 불문하고 그 속에서 삶의 진리와 교훈을 얻을 수 있고 무한한 상상력과 창의력을 발휘할 수 있는 문학 창작의 원천이 된다. 본 논문은 중학 국어 교과서에 실린 설화를 중심으로 설화 교육의 중요성과 그 교육적 가치를 살핀 후 제 7차 교육과정을 바탕으로 설화의 특수성을 살린 설화 교육 방안을 모색하였다. 그리고 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 유도하여 창의력과 상상력을 신장시키고 올바른 가치관을 형성하여 바람직한 인간상을 확립할 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 제 Ⅱ장에서는 설화의 목적과 필요성을 정립하고자 하였다. 제 Ⅲ장에서는 중학교 교과서에 수록된 작품 유형을 분석하고, 중학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 현행 교육 현장의 설화 교육의 실태를 파악하고 그에 따른 설화 교육 방안을 모색해 보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 설화의 특성을 고려하며, 학습자의 능동적이고 주체적인 활동이 주가 되는 교수 · 학습 방법으로 ‘만화로 나타내기’를 제시하였다. 그리고 보다 구체적 방안을 모색하기 위하여 제7차 교육과정의 제7학년 1학기 국어 교과서에 수록되어 있는 을 중심으로 살펴보았다.

A narrative is a story that had naturally emerged undergoing through for a long time the lives of lots of people. Although it may be acquainted or surfeited on, or old-fashioned to the students who ate used to sensational stories, narratives are not just the old stories, that, for the sake of arousing interest. They indeed pertain to the breathing, the truth of life, and the variety of teaching from our nation. They are the whole of life in which the wisdom and the wit, and the world-view of our ancestors are condensed. In addition, not only are narratives useful to the children or elementaty school students, but also they are so for the people, regardless of age or sex, who are seeking the truth, and the teaching of life. Furthermore, they could be used for a fountain of creative literary writing that could stir up one's endless imagination and rich originality. This thesis has investigated, based on the 7th course of study, the way of narrative education giving life to narrative's characteristics, focused on the mid읻 school contained in the 7th grade, Middle School Korean, after considering the importance and the educational values of narratives. And it also has the purpose of inducing students to active engagement in order to enhance creativeness and imagination, by virtue of forming desirable person with righteous vales. To make these done, in chapter Ⅱ, I have tried to make the purpose and necessity of narrative education. In chapter Ⅲ, having analyzed the type of narratives contained in the middle school texts, and performed questionnaire for middle school students, I research the realities on the narrative education, and search for the clue to narrative education. In chapter Ⅳ, I have proposed a verity of teaching and learning skills, principal means which become learner's active engagment and independent activities. And to give a more concrete example, I have examined contained in the 7th grade middle school of the 7th Course Study.
