아동의 어머니와 교사에 대한 애착과 사회적 유능감의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 어머니와 교사에 대한 아동의 애착에 따라 사회적 유능감에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고, 애착과 사회적 유능감 간에 어떤 관계가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 부산시 소재 3개 초등학교에 재학 중인 5, 6학년 아동 371명이었다. 아동의 부모와 교사에 대한 애착을 측정하기 위하여 Gullone와 Robinson(2005)이 개발한 아동용 부모 및 또래 애착 검사(Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment-Revised for Children : IPPA-R)를 이희영(2006)이 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 아동의 사회적 유능감은 박금옥(1998)이 개발한 청소년용 사회적 능력 검사를 초등학생들에게 맞도록 수정·보완한 왕정희(2001)의 검사를 사용하여 측정하였다. 결과 분석에 앞서 검사의 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하는 작업이 이루어졌고 이를 토대로 결과분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니에 대한 애착정도에 따라 아동의 사회적 유능감은 차이가 있다.. 이는 부모와 안정애착을 형성한 아동은 타인에게 필요한 시기에 도움을 주고, 협력하며, 위로와 편안함을 제공해 줄 수 있는 사회적 유능감을 형성하며 타인과의 상호작용에서 긍정적인 관계를 기대 할 수 있음을 의미한다. 둘째, 교사에 대한 애착정도에 따라 아동의 사회적 유능감은 차이가 있다. 애착수준이 높은 아동은 애착수준이 낮은 아동에 비하여 사회적 유능감 모든 영역에서 보다 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 셋째, 어머니에 대한 애착과 교사에 대한 애착이 아동의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향은 차이가 있다. 어머니에 대한 애착이 교사에 대한 애착에 비하여 보다 사회적 유능감과 밀접한 관련이 있었다. 넷째, 어머니-교사와의 복합 애착 유형에 따라 아동의 사회적 유능감은 차이가 있다. 어머니 애착-교사애착이 상위-상위인 집단은 다른 모든 집단에 비하여 가장 사회적 유능감이 높았으며, 하위-하위 집단은 유능감이 가장 낮았다. 이상의 결과에서 부모와 교사에 대한 아동의 애착에 따른 사회적 유능감의 상관관계를 알아본 결과 선행 연구결과와 비교적 일치하였다. 이는 초등학생의 애착이 사회적 유능감에 영향을 미치고 있음을 밝힘으로써 Bowlby의 애착의 전생애적 관점을 지지하는 계기가 되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between attachment to mother-teacher and social competence of elementary school children. Research questions were 1) Is there any difference between attachment to mother and social competence social competence of elementary school children? 2) Is there any difference between attachment to teacher and social competence social competence of elementary school children? 3) Is there any difference in effect of attachment to mother and attachment to teacher on social competence of elementary school children? 4) Is there any difference in social competence according to type of multiple attachment classification? An object of this research was three elementary school's 371 fifth and sixth graders in Busan. In order to measure children's attachment to mother-teacher Inventory of Parent And Peer Attachment-Revised for Children(IPPA-R) invented by Gullone and Robinson(2005) was used. Social competence was measured using Social Competence Scale modified by Wang. Collected materials were analyzed using MANOVA. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, there was relationship between attachment to mother and social competence of elementary school children. Second, there was relationship between attachment to teacher and social competence elementary school children. Third, there was difference in effect of attachment to mother and attachment to teacher on social competence of elementary school children. Finally, there was difference in social competence according to type of multiple attachment classification. High-high scored group of attachment to mother-teacher was the highest levels of social competence in all group. On the contrary, Low-low scored group of attachment to mother-teacher was the lowest levels of those social competence. The meaning of results of this study was discussed in connection with related study. Finally, the limit of this study was mentioned and future study questions were suggested.
