완벽주의 성향과 부모양육태도 및 갈등해결전략과의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 부모의 양육태도, 완벽주의 및 갈등해결전략과의 관계를 살펴보기 위해 수행되었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 중학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도는 자녀의 완벽주의 성향과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 둘째, 중학생의 완벽주의 성향은 갈등해결전략과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 본 연구는 부산시내에 소재한 3개 중학교의 2학년 총 12학급에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 총 420부의 설문지를 배부하여 이 가운데 총 349부를 본 연구의 분석에 사용하였다. 자녀가 지각한 부모의 양육태도를 측정하기 위해 사용한 도구는 오성심·이종승(1982)의 질문지를 참고하여 임선화(1987)가 반복되는 문항을 간추려 40문항으로 재구성한 것을 사용하였다 완벽주의를 측정하기 위한 도구로 캐나다의 Hewitt & Flett(1991)의 다차원적 완벽주의 척도를 사용하였는데 본 연구에서는 한기연(1993)이 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 갈등해결전략을 측정하기 위해 이은해, 고윤주와 오원정(2000)이 개발한 갈등해결전략 척도를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 주어진 연구문제에 따라 SPSSWIN(ver. 12.0) 프로그램을 사용하여 통계적 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 양육태도가 애정 및 합리 수준에 따르는 자녀의 완벽주의는 성별 간에 유의미한 차이가 없었고, 부모의 양육태도가 자율적이라고 지각하는 중학생들은 자기지향 완벽주의 성향이 높고 타인지향 및 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 성향이 낮은 경향이 있었다. 특히 남학생의 경우 자기지향 완벽주의 성향은 통계적으로도 유의미하게 높으며, 여학생은 타인지향 및 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 성향이 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮았다. 다음, 부모의 양육태도가 성취지향이 높을 경우 낮은 학생에 비하여 남녀 학생 모두 자기지향 및 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 성향이 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 높음을 보여주었다. 둘째, 중학생의 완벽주의 성향과 갈등해결전략과의 관계를 성별에 따라 종합해 보면 남녀학생 모두 자기지향·사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 성향이 높으면 회피전략 점수가 높으며, 타인지향 완벽주의 성향이 높으면 회피전략 점수가 낮다. 다만 나머지 지배, 협력 및 절충, 양보 등의 갈등해결전략은 남학생의 경우 자기지향 완벽주의 성향과, 여학생의 경우 타인지향 완벽주의 성향과 관계가 깊었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among perfectionism, parents' rearing attitudes and conflict resolution strategies. To obtain this purpose, the following study problems were established. First, what kind of relationship is there between parental support and a child's perfectionism? Second, what kind of relationship is there between the middle school student's perfectionism and their conflict resolution strategies? To conduct this study, 420 questionnaires were distributed to 12 classes of 2nd grade middle school students in Pusan and were collected. 349 questionnaires were used by excluding dishonest answers and students from non-intact family. To measure parents' rearing attitudes, this study used Parents' Rearing Attitudes Measurement developed by Oh and Yi(1982). To measure perfectionism, this study used Perfectionism Measurement developed by the Hewitt and Flett (1991). To measure conflict resolution strategies between friends, this study used Conflict Resolution Strategies Measurement developed by GO and Oh(2000). Collected data were analyzed using SPSSWIN(12.0 version) statistics program. The study results are as follows: First, there was no difference between genders in how parents' role in fostering affects a child. The middle school students whose parents are liberal have high attitude to reach perfection by themselves and low attitude to reach perform by others. Statistically the boys had high attitude to reach perfectionism by themselves and the girls had low attitude to reach perfection by others or society. When the parents have higher attitude to reach perfectionism, compared with those who their parents don't have low accomplishment-oriented attitude. Secondly, when we research the relationship between students' attitude to reach perfection and discord solution strategy, all the students who have high attitude to reach perfectionism have high tendency of avoidance strategy. But in the case of governing, cooperation, negotiation and concession, the boys have deep relationship with attitude to reach perfectionism by themselves and the girls have deep relationship with attitude to reach perform by others or society. It is hard to generalize the conclusion because the sample group is 12 classes of 2nd grade in middle school. Therefore it's necessary to research wider group of students.
