기록 포맷의 변화에 따른 프로그램 제작시스템의 변화

Abstract

방송기술의 발전, 특히 최초 recording format의 발전에 따른 제작환경의 변화를 역사적으로 비교분석하고, 기술발전과 제작환경과의 상관관계에 대한 연구를 통해, 새롭게 도래하고 있는 New Media format, 특히 Tapeless format 환경에서의 올바른 선택과 기준이 어떠해야 할지에 대한 연구논문. Format이란, (서적 따위의) 체제,형, 판. (컴퓨터) 포맷, 형식. TV에서 비디오 신호를 만드는 신호의 특별한 형식(form). 예를 들면, 콤포지트 대 콤포넌트 포맷등 이라고 한다. (bp.sony.co.kr) 이러한 기록의 형태 또는 매개체 등을 결정 지어주는 일련의 방법 또는 방식을format이라 규정한다면, 현대의 방송에 있어서는 그 format의 발전과 방송의 발전은 그 궤를 같이 한다고 볼 수 있다. 어떠한 Format을 사용하는 가에 따라 방송제작의 형태가 좌우되며, 이에 따른 배급과 심지어는 상영의 방식까지도 규정된다. 다시 말해서, 어떠한 제작 장비를 갖추어야 하고, 어느 정도의 비용과 인원이 필요하며, 얼마 동안의 제작시간이 소요되는 지 등의 많은 요소와 절차들이 최초format의 선정에 의해 규정된다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 Format의 변화는 관련된 제반 제작상황과 그 이후로 연속되는 모든 절차에 지대한 영향력을 가지고 있으며, 그 효율성의 측면과 경제적인 측면 그리고 향후 발전방향의 여지등과 관련해서 큰 중요성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 기존의 아나로그와 디지털 format들이 보여준 제작환경과의 상관관계를 비교분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 현재 새롭게 진행되고 있는 다양한 Tapeless(비 테이프방식)format에 대한 비교와 분석을 통해서, 향후 제작시스템의 효율성과 제반 경제적인 측면의 합리화를 위해 어떠한 선택들이 타당성을 가지고 최적의 기준이 될 수 있을 지에 대해 검토해보고자 한다.

The Purpose of this study is to draw rational criterion and review the appropriate and recommendable attitude when adopting new recording format technology and media mainly represented by Tapeless media’. There have been lots of changes and developments through the history of the recording formats. We can find some common features for success of recording format from the period of Analog to Digital mainly represented by ‘Tape media’. This means the common features are the factors what are requested and needed in the field of broadcasting producing for efficient workflow. Those factors could be useful references and criterions while deciding on which new format technology will be appropriate and better choice for total producing system. Those drawn criterions are like ‘Handiness’, ‘Economical efficiency’, ‘Stability’, ‘Video picture quality’, ‘Light weight’, ‘Compatibility’, et cetera. Added to the above elements, it needs more factors to consider when choosing New tapeless format integrating IT and Network technology. Those expected factors are such as ‘Network compatibility’, ‘Transfer speed’, ‘Transcoding speed’, ‘Archiving capacity’ and so on. This study is comparing and analyzing currently running tapeless formats according to the requested criterions drawn from the study of tape format and added related with network and information technology. It’s not easy to decide which technology might be better than others but we could find which factor should be regarded as most prior thing to others for the next generation recording system. And the result of the analysis could give some directions that those tapeless format technologies should go. And one more object of the study is how our attitude should be in order to adopt new technology and which point of view would be more persuasive to understand the relation between technology and society. There are two representative angles to grasp the state of interaction for technology and society. In conclusion, it would be more recommendable way to pick and choose advantages from each opinion because the actual state is too complicated to explain with one-sided view. Each opinion can describe only some part of the aspect and it is not enough to explain whole aspect of the actual state. It would be very important for us waiting and preparing for the upcoming new technology to meet with progressive mind and well-prepared knowledge. Things are constantly changing very fast.
