A Research on the Improvement of Heat Exchange Efficiency in Energy Recovery Ventilator with Single Motor
Abstract
To improve the enthalpy efficiency, a newly designed Energy Recovery Ventilator(ERV) with guide vane and single motor is experimented and verified. The experimented pilot system is designed base on various CFD analyses.(flow) The developed pilot system, 250 CMH capacity, reveal temperature efficiency improvement of 6% in cooling period and 8.2% in heating period compared to the conventional ERV. These improved efficiencies mean ‘supply air' temperature is lower 0.48℃ in cooling period and higher 1.22℃ in heating period than ERV without guide vane. In case of enthalpy efficiency, The developed pilot system reveal improvement of 5.72% in cooling period and 7.3% in heating period compared to the conventional ERV. Also possibility of the application single motor experimented and verified. As a result the developed pilot system is equal the enthalpy efficiency but the power consumption is the lower than conventional ERV.
