Abstract

Finland, a developed country in Northern Europe, and South Korea [hereinafter Korea], a developed country in Eastern Asia, are both ranked and maintain top spots (Finland - 4th place, Korea 6th place, if to exclude China's 2018 PISA result) in the OECD's Program for International Student Assessment(PISA) test. On the other hand, Finland is ranked the happiest country in the world (2020 World Happiness Report, UN-affiliated Sustainable Development Solutions Network, SDSN) while Korea is only ranked 61st place. The purpose of this paper is to find measures for Korean students to raise not only academic performance but also happiness level. This paper examines the Finnish education system, focusing on physics curriculum in upper-secondary education in order to enhance students' physics learning in Korea.
