Temporal and spatial prediction for the events of red tides using numerical experiment
Abstract
This paper was focused on studying prediction for the events of red tides using three-dimensional hydrodynamic model(Princeton Ocean Model) for water temperature and accumulated precipitation in the southern coastal waters of Korea.
The results of hydrodynamic model showed that the flow was westward during flood and eastward during ebb in tidal current.
Investigation of red tides in southern coastal waters of Korea, Gamak bay(D), Saryangdo·Yokjido coast(G) and Jinhae bay(H) showed the maximum frequency of red tide.
The condition of red tide occurrence by model was consider for water temperature(T) and accumulated precipitation(P). The basis of red tide occurrence at South Sea of Korea within 10 days calculated for accuracy of red tide occurrence by model.
The result showed that Gamak bay(D) 45mm
