Transformational Leadership of a Head Teacher and Creative Personality of Teachers on Their Immersion

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to monitor the influence of organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers on their immersion as well as the relations between the three factors and immersion. Moreover, the study is meaningful in finding ways to improve some factors in order to enhance the degree of teachers’ immersion and improving the quality of education.

The survey is conducted among 289 kindergarten teachers working in Busan and other areas in South Gyeongsang Province, and the survey results are analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistics program. Correlation analysis is used to identify the relationship between factors, and multiple regression analysis is used to measure the relative influence among related factors.


Subjects of Inquiry
1) What kinds of relationships are there between teachers’ immersion and organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers?
2) What influence do organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers have on teachers’ immersion?

The study results are as follows,
First of all, there is a statistically significant positive correlation between teachers’ immersion and organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers. The study shows that there is a meaningful positive correlation between all of the eight sub-factors of immersion and organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers. As for the loss of self-awareness, there is a positive correlation between the sub-factor and rational culture, a sub-factor of organizational culture. Also, Charisma, personal attention and inspirational motivation, sub-factors of transformational leadership, have a positive correlation with the loss of self-awareness. In addition, a meaningful positive correlation is represented between the sub-factor of immersion and sub-factors of creative personality: uniqueness, openness, curiosity.
Secondly, the overall effect of organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers on their immersion is statistically significant. One of the sub-factors of creative personality, uniqueness, has the largest impact on immersion, and it is followed by curiosity, another sub-factor of creative personality, charisma, a sub-factor of transformational leadership, and rational culture, a sub-factor of organizational culture in order.
Thirdly, the influence of organizational culture of kindergarten, transformational leadership of a head teacher and creative personality of teachers on sub-factors of immersion is as follows. Uniqueness, curiosity, openness and insistence, sub-factors of creative personality, have a significant influence on sub-factors of immersion. Rational culture, innovation culture and hierarchy culture, sub-factors of organizational culture, are partially effective. Also, charisma, personal attention and intellectual stimulation, sub-factors of transformational leadership, have an impact on immersion in some ways.
