- Abstract
- Corporate social responsibility(CSR) has been gradually expanding as a key element of corporate management as an issue. Hotel companies also recognize the importance of social responsibility to the continued growth, actively participating and paying attention. The hotel company is an important factor in the satisfaction and trust of our customers, most important service industry as an ethical corporate image can maximize the satisfaction of their customers.
This study aims at investigating the impact of CSR on employees′outcomes(job satisfaction, job performance, organizational citizenship behavior) through affective organizational commitment in the Hotel business.
The research surveyed 239 samples and used Structural Equation Models for data analysis. The research findings may be summarized as follows.
First, CSR was shown to significantly impact affective organizational commitment. Second, Affective organizational commitment was shown to significantly impact job satisfaction, job performance and organizational citizenship behavior.
This study gains significant implications as follows.
First, Hotel companies are expected to improve long-term performance, because they give a positive impact on the attitudes and behavior of employees by the ethical and social responsibility to contribute to the community. Second, Hotel companies can expect a positive effect on the improvement of employees' job by the corporate social responsibility activities, such as volunteering, donating talent, environmental protection activities, etc. It will be motivated to employees and be a solution to the frequent turnover problem in the hotel industry.
This study was focused on a mediator role of affective organizational commitment in the impacts of corporate social responsibility on employees' outcomes in the hotel industry. It may be necessary to consider to research various CSR related subjects in the hotel industry such as the positive affection, organizational identification, and normative commitment.
