A smart education of classical poetry in e-learning environment
Abstract
Smart education is emerging as a new educational paradigm throughout the world including Korea. Korea is aggressively adopting smart education in accordance with the 'smart education promotion strategy' announced by the Ministry of Education in 2011, and research on smart education is briskly in progress. For the time being, it seems necessary to try smart education for the subject of Korean language, too.
Smart education overcomes the limitations of textbooks composed of text only and enables actual context and experience in literary works. As a consequence, knowledge does not remain just as knowledge but functions as a cultural experience for learners.
Among the various sub-areas in the subject of Korean language, classic poetry and its properties as a composite art can be enhanced in terms of educational effect by taking advantage of smart education. So, smart education shall be applied in the class of a Koryeosokyo, , which has strong artistic features as a composite art.
To this end, what should be decided first in order to achieve the learning objective on is how smart education will be applied in class. This will be done in the 'smart education contents design' phase. In this phase, 'Partnership for 21st Century Skills', which is emphasized in smart education, should be properly reflected along with the learning objective. Then, based on the designed contents, lesson plans for smart education on will be prepared.
With regard to smart education discussed in this paper, a little more emphasis will be put on the learner-centered 'education' which emphasizes communicative class, compared with the 'smart' that emphasizes utilization of the device. Therefore, the smart device will be used entirely as a tool for learners to find a clue to problem solving for themselves and at the same time as a pathway between learners for a smooth communication. And, by way of ensuring that each class activity is followed by a discussion activity, a teaching plan will be prepared so as to effectively implement 'human-centered learning based on people and contents', which is highlighted in smart education.
