A Research on Comparison of Green Package Design in Korea, China and Japan: Focusing on Traditional Cookies
Abstract
In recent years, as the improvement of the global industrialization and the packaging engineer, the requirements for the product packaging of various industries are continually growing. The effectiveness of the packaging stands out especially in the market, and the product packaging directly impacts the share in the market. In order to improve the competitiveness in the market and boost the sales, various materials are introduced for packaging such as paper, plastic, metal and wood. As the packaging material brings facility and profit for consumer and manufacturer respectively, however, lots of the packages may be discarded at will and this will worsen the ecological environment. Since the consistently aggravating in environment contamination, we have to protect the ecological environment while designing the packaging.
The green production is an important symbol of the civilization, especially in the 21th century, for the worsening in environmental problem and resource problem. People in the developed countries prefer the green product, thus, the manufacturers have to consider the environmental problem as they designing the package. Furthermore, some countries have established the laws about the environmental problem. From here we see that the designing of the environment friendly package is more and more considerable.
This thesis derives from the environment friendly package, and systematically studies the history and classification of the traditional pastry of Korea, China and Japan. Then, this thesis analyzes the material and style of the typical package of the traditional pastry of these three countries. In the next step, the correlation analysis and statistical method are introduced to analyze the factors, i.e., brand, package design, material, style, size, and color, which may impact the consumer, and the analysis result shows that the most important factor is the material and this demonstrates that the traditional packaging engineer encounters the over packaging problem. The statistical result is obtained by questionnaire survey. Finally, this thesis points out the development tendency of the traditional pastry packaging is to design the environment friendly packaging.
Thus, the healthy, recyclable and renewable material is more favorable in the packaging engineer in the future. Therefore, the designer should rationally use these recyclable and renewable materials meanwhile maintaining the basic package function. The environment friendly packaging satisfies the requirement of the environment protection and represents the tendency of the packaging engineering, and is also the powerful way to improve the competitiveness in the market.
