Abstract


Recently, as water-friendly space has become a hot issue since economic development, it is attracted for water-friendly tourism resource for modern people’s leisure and rest. Under these trends, man made thoughtless development such as construction of embankment and reclaimed land not considering erosion and deformation of coast has been causes for breaking functions of coast and damages on natural environment. In order to manage coastal environment and resources effectively, it’s required to understand changing environment in coastal line and interpret and predict it quantitatively.
Therefore, this study is intended to analyze and predict erosion in coastal environment and changes in sedimentation quantitatively by detecting changes in coastal line from data collection for satellite images and aerial LiDAR data. The result that observed changes in coastal line through DSAS program showed that overall coastal line is retreating and coastal line in 2010 is advancing to open sea compared to that of 2009.
Data for coastal line used for the analysis in 2012 showed higher accuracy compared to those of 2009 and 2010. This indicated that coastal line in all terrains tended to retreat as time goes by. It’s believed that a future study needs correction for deviation occurring.
This study, with analysis results of progresses in coastal line, is expected to be a basis for planning suitable management of coast corresponding to changes in coastal terrains.
