Abstract

The intangible assets that individuals and corporations own have been estimated into the growth of their business and the competitive power of their nation in the twenty-first century knowledge-based society. The nation and the local autonomous entity should encourage people to develop their invention consciousness to realize their inventions in reality and enhance its corporations to produce powerful and competitive patents. For reaching these achievements, it is important that the intellectual property policy of the nation be implemented consistently in practice and a customized support system be required in local sites.

This study, most of all, researches the moments CEOs and students in Busan encountered an intellectual property for the first time, the courses they could grow their companies with the invention of patents, and the problems they experienced as they ran their corporations and used the intellectual property system. Second, the study researches the cognition level of the businessmen and potential enterprisers, compared with those of the Seoul metropolitan region, about the importance of supporting the intellectual property, the benefit degree, and the application of the property system. Finally, this study has found the methods through which local invention patent firms can gain more benefits and students as the prospective founders can be offered a venture atmosphere through invention. According to the survey, the local corporations and students know the importance of intellectual property, but they don't know exactly the governmental support system or the local autonomous entity. So, the government and the local entity should connect with local organizations, classify the intellectual property support system into proper levels and categories, and create a road map to active promotion. Korea needs to develop the competitiveness of original patents to evolve into a nation of applying patents. The government should actively create an environment for invention and support the related organizations to approach necessary technologies at the R&D level based on the intellectual property.

The government should offer sufficient practical places as well as education where students' ideas can be produced and their ideas can be successful. Thus, many venture entrepreneurs with an inclination towards economic creativity can be born.
