해상탈출용 구명정 이탈장치의 FMEA 시스템 적용에 관한 연구

Abstract
The ocean can be used as an advantage in a variety of resource utilization and transportation. In the ocean, a vessel worker, offshore and other marine facilities can be exposed in an isolated and confined environment. In these circumstances, the only way to escape an emergency such as fire, explosion, aground, capsizing or collision is a use of the protective personal equipment and survival crafts. According to the report of IMO’s(International Maritime Organization) DE(Sub-committee on ship Design and Equipment) session 48th, most of the lifeboat accident occurred during drills, inspection and maintenance operations. To prevent these accidents, IMO adopted document MSC.1206.
The union recommended the FMEA(Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) system of which purpose was explained in DE session 53th.
In this study, FMEA was carried out to the release device and the high risk items were identified on the release devices by the failure mode. The survey was performed for the failure mode determination, it shows that fall wire corrosion and damages were found as the highest with 16% from the actual number of accidents. When the value of RPN has over 12, the failure should be checked in order to reduce the possibility of lifeboat accidents and needed improvement also ways to improve the management method were suggested and recommended.
The selected failure modes in over RPN 12 are fall wire corrosion & damage(24), release handle disorder(18), hydrostatic interlock handle disorder(18), operating cable corrosion & cutting(18), pool connection with suspension link & hook(18), hook not-open(12) and pool connecting condition with operating cable(12).
The acquired FMEA data will be utilized as useful data for the prevention of the lifeboat accident. From the results, the improvement should be accomplished by adding inspection methods during the periodic inspection and checking corrosion during the drill and annual inspection.
