Design and Implementation of Body Vital Sign Measurement Using Microcontroller and Android Smartphone to Reduce Accident Rate
- Abstract
- The statistics Indonesia has recorded all accidents on the road in Indonesia for the last 14 years. Starting from broken vehicles, bruises up to death of people. The accidents also reduce a lot of people productivity and waste their time. This is one of the cause of the economy and the growth of a country. Those traffic jams will wear out the driver who spends a lot of time on the road, causing bore, stress and weariness which able to remake other accidents. Those stresses and weary will take a toll on the driver physical endurance, in this case the driver heart. This experiment will enact a topic about the heart and body temperature of the driver which is some of primary vital parameters of human health in the long term. Heart attack is able to occur in ubiquitous. To minimize the unknown potential, a system has been designed to detect early sign of health by measuring heartbeat and body temperature and also analyze the data to give a report of the current state of the driver's health. Based on previous experiment and all other methods to measure heart beat and body temperature, a cathode is being put on the left side of the chest to measure the heart beat while body temperature is being measured via a temporal artery, rectal, axillary, tympanic and oral cavity. From those experiments and scientific references, we apply it in a form of a seatbelt by using PPG to measure the heart beat and body temperature will be measured using rectal temperature which will be implemented in the seat. This experiment will introduce an early detection system, visualization, measuring gather sensor to smartphone and also a warning based on custom analyzing algorithm about the state of body condition to minimize the possibility of accidents which are caused by health degeneration.
