Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of regular life gymnastics on health-related physical fitness and temperature in elderly women.
For this purpose, elderly women(70-75 age) in B city were recruited and they were divided into exercise group(EG, n=7), and control group(CG, n=7). Life gymnastics program was applied equivalent to (Week 1-3) RPE 9, (Week 4-6) RPE 11, (Week 7-9) RPE 13, (Week 10-12) RPE 15, 40 minutes a day for 3 days a week in 12 weeks.
All date were analyzed by the comparison for within group change was using paired t-test of SPSS package 21.0 program and ANCOVA was used for differences between groups and significant level was set to .05. The results of this study were as follows:

1. Health-related physical fitness

1) Muscular strength was increased significantly EG(p<.05), but decreased CG.
It wasn't any significant difference effect between groups.

2) Muscular endurance was increased significantly EG(p<.01), but decreased CG.
It was significantly different effect between groups(p<.01).

3) Balance was increased significantly EG(p<.001), but decreased CG.
It was significantly different effect between groups(p<.001).

4) Flexibility was increased significantly EG(p<.01), but decreased CG.
It was significantly different effect between groups(p<.01).

5) Power was increased significantly EG(p<.05), but decreased CG.
It was significantly different effect between groups(p<.05).


2. Temperature was increased EG, but decreased CG.
It wasn't any significant difference effect between groups.
