수산어류 종자산업의 생산 및 경영실태 분석

Abstract
An increase in seafood consumption worldwide significantly drawn the importance of the aquaculture industry. It has brought the importance of the fishery seed industry as a new growth driver. Yet, the studies carried out up to this day still lacks practical research findings.
This research takes aim suggesting the way to enhance the fishery seed industry through analysing various features of entities of fishery seed in particular the performance and the status quo in their management systems.
In an attempt to fulfill the in-depth study, the fact-finding investigation was conducted with fishery seed producers in person. Based on the data obtained through this survey, it allowed to examine the management status of operation, production, cost and gross profit margin. As to overcome limitations of the short period research over merely a year, the sensibility analysis to their profit margin on sales according to major variable changes. Besides, an expert interview was also undertaken with a couple more producers, allowing to comprehend the overall status of the industry itself.
We found that fishery seed producers have low management stability due to their high sensibility to survival rate and changes in selling price. Also, based on the analysis on price ratio structure, we found that failure to standardize production resulted in excess cost in some items.
Unlike previous studies, this attaches importance to the fact that the survey and interview were conducted with the entities of fishery seed on spot so as to look at the status of the industry and their management models. However, it was limited by the small number of samples and lack of cumulated business documents of their management due to the samples businesses’ shortage of infrastructure. Further research with a larger number of samples is expected to yield more accurate and advanced results.
