순서형로짓모형을 이용한 어장휴식

Abstract

The domestic production of aquaculture in the Republic of Korea has increased since 2000s and its trend is expected to be kept continuously. However, aquafarms are recently being damaged by environmental aggravation and also the productivity is starting to decrease. To solve theses problems, new institutional approaches are required. One of the approaches for environmental improvement of farming ground, increase in the productivity, and provision of health aquaculture products can be the rest-year system. The rest-year system allows fishermen to take a rest for 2 years. The system provides them with direct payment corresponding a loss caused by taking the rest to improve environment in farming ground. The purpose of this research is to analyze several factors which influence on direct payment for aquafarming ground break prior to the enforcement of this system. The method used in the analysis is the ordered logit model and it is based on survey data gotten from farmers. The result shows that oyster farmers wanted the highest direct payment and in order of abalone, warty sea squirt, and mussel farmers. Moreover, it shows that the better fishing ground environment they have, the higher direct payment they hope to get.
