A Study on Smart Healthcare Toilet System Development
Abstract
Recently due to an aging society and a busy lifestyle, it is getting harder for many people to get medical treatment in hospitals. In this paper, as one way to solve this problem, a smart health care toilet system is developed to check and monitor a user’s state of health at home. In this system, a circuit based by Arduino is designed to measure the pH values in urine, and a Bluetooth module is used to connect it to an Android application. Users are required to login to access the service to identify the individual user. Measured pH values are shown on the screen of the Android application, and the data is stored at the user’s pH database for the user to check the records of the past through wifi/3G/LTE. The data can also be used by doctors for medical records. In the meantime, the criterion of an emergency situation is set by the Android application to meet emergency effectively, and 119 is automatically called in case of an emergency. Finally, the effectiveness of the system developed in this paper was proven by comparing and evaluating it against other existing systems of its kind.
