자기 치유적 글쓰기 사례 연구
- Abstract
- In this study, I selected myself as a subject of study, and conducted of Kathleen Adams’s therapeutic writing activities for 100 days. There are three purpose of the study. Firstly, through writing I tried to get the experience of expressing untold worries, stresses, and all of the feelings and thoughts. Secondly, I tried to analyze myself, have new behaviors and beliefs and find my true self. Thirdly, through the self-healing Writing rethink my identity by recollecting my past experiences and find the meaning from my past experiences. To this end, I studied domestic studies related to self-healing, writing therapy, self-esteem, and based on these studies, I studied this paper.
Studies on Self-healing, writing therapy self-esteem have been proceeding actively in Europe and the United States. The studies have been conducted in a variety of ages, such as infant, child, adolescent in South Korea. However, there are not many studies based on Kathleen Adams’s therapeutic writing for 100 days, especially studies which targeting researchers themselves. Therefore, in this study, I targeted myself as a subject of study, conducted Kathleen Adams’s therapeutic writing activities for 100 days and through self-healing writhing case studies, tried to find out whether or not this writing activity can improve self-esteem.
The therapeutic writing for 100 days was conducted for 15 weeks, I wrote a described topic on a daily basis. However, it was difficult to analyze the 100 days of writings, so I analyzed some topics which were significantly moved or helped clear my mind or made me feel inner change. In this study, I mainly followed ’10 factors of therapeutic writing’ which Kathleen Adams introduced, and the three principles of self-healing writing, ‘the principle of distancing’, ‘the principle of experience ruminant’, ‘the principle of authenticity’.
However, in this study researcher is the test subject, to get more objective result, I used a reliable test tools. So I used the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale and Coopersmith Self Esteem Scale to measure self-esteem. And I conducted a pre-test and post-test to see the difference before and after the therapeutic writing about my own self-esteem.
The results of this study are summarized as follows.
Firstly, the therapeutic writing has had a positive impact on my self-esteem recovery. During the 100 days, I newly recognized myself in the writing process and my negative language changes into the positive language and I have more positive self-concept than before. Secondly, through Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale and Coopersmith Self Esteem Scale I know about my self-esteem level, I became understand myself.
I hope through this study, people who want to know more about themself, worried about their values and confidence could have some opportunities to see their own inner world and get to know the possibility of self-healing through the therapeutic writing.
