A Study on the Construction of Semistationary Deperm Treatment System for the Vessel Deperming Station
Abstract
The magnetic treatment method for deperming in ROK Navy is designed to let the current flow through cable wind to the outside of the ship by decreasing the intensity of magnetic field in order to enhance the ship's survivability against the enemy, But it is extremely difficult to secure smooth magnetic treatment capabilities for ships as of now.
As for a big-sized ships. it takes about 4~5 weeks for magnetic treatment. Significant difficulties are imposed it the ship put into a halt from the ship's combat mission and stored at the deperming treatment facilities.
The problem is that the actual deperming treatment duration is shorter than a week in the whole period and other parts of the time are for cable wind & untie, To guarantee the ships' combat capabilities duration, it is important to significantly shorten the duration for cable wind & untie.
Conventional deperming station equipment has several limiting elements that require the use of which is not suitable for the maritime characteristics of Korean Water and ROK Navy. In this research semi-stationary deperming treatment system, is proposed in which cables are fixed to the lower half and the work on cable wind & wind untie for the upper half decreases the duration from approximately 3~4 weeks to within a week. This system can improve and guarantee the efficiency of operational employment, and greatly enhance the ship magnetic treatment capabilities in ROK Navy.
