태풍통과시 대한해협내 해수면 변동의 2차 Peak 발생 기작 연구
- Abstract
- Sea level variations in the Korean Straits with the passage of the typhoons which passed through the Korean Straits from the East China Sea to enter the East Sea (the Japan Sea) (hereafter Danas-type typhoon) are examined using the hourly observation data of KOOFS during 1970 to 2014 and a three-dimensional primitive equation model (POM). The sea level records with the typhoons showed a special feature, i.e., the 2nd peaks (the surge) in the Korean Straits appeared after the passage of the typhoons. The model well reproduced the observation results such as appearance of the 1st and 2nd peaks. In the model, the 2nd peak was directly induced by propagation of Kelvin wave along the eastern and southern coasts of Korea, interacting with a cyclonic eddy within the Korean Straits, which was almost geostrophically balanced with Ekman divergence. In other tracks of typhoons, such as ones moved to the Yellow Sea from the East China Sea or moved right northward crossing over the Honshu in Japan, the 2nd peak did not appear.
