혁신학교의 융합디자인교육 관한연구

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the activation strategies and expected effects of convergence education of design in innovative schools, which are different from general middle school and high school. An innovative school aims to form an ethical living community and professional studying environment based on a democratic educational system as well as operate a creative educational program cultivating student’s ability to think creatively. Since the innovative school program was initiated in Gyeonggi-do in 2009, it has been expanding nationwide. In 2015, Mandeok high school in Busan was designated as an innovative school and in 2016, 11 more schools including elementary, middle and high school were as well. The innovative schools have realized the convergence educational curriculum, educational field trips, student-centered education, practical and creative activity of faculty, voluntary participation and cooperation of teachers, and school-based management system. The convergence education of design has been adopted in middle schools on a trial base. However, the contents and curriculums of the program have not been fully completed since teachers in art department lack understandings of convergence education and professionals in this area are not enough. Therefore, it is essential to build the education of design that enables students to apply convergent critical thinking for creative activities reflecting the fundamentals and curriculums of innovative schools
