- Abstract
- In this study, we performed simulation for hydrogen fluoride (HF) leakage accident, occurred in Gumi fourth industrial complex at Hube global Inc. in Korea on September 27 2012. Modeling of accident area is affected for real scale of domain by visiting and using map etc. and we selected as computational object. We adopted weather condition which is based on Korea Meteorological Administration during the accident time, and the accident scenario was referred by previous study for ejection flow rate and duration time. The hazardous chemical accident features turbulence flow due to the explosive ejection during the short time. In this study, to consider the dispersion of hazardous chemical, we adopted Large Eddy Simulation (LES), which is one of the CFD technique, and the Fire dynamics simulator (FDS) developed by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) was used for simulation. We adopted Message Passing Interface (MPI) parallel process to reduce the computational time because we modeled real computational domain. Also, to evaluate the accuracy of this study, we compared the results with Areal Location of Hazardous Atmospheres (ALOHA) which display the results of dispersion easily.
In the result, unsteady simulation using LES is effective method to predict dispersion HF range reasonably, when dispersion of hazardous chemical was conducted. Therefore, if LES is executed well, we conclude that LES is useful to predict dispersion accident of hazardous chemical and to achieve basic data of industrial field for incident prevention.
