Abstract

The consistence of speech and writing movement is an indispensable part of the social development. In the modernised social development of South Korea, the movement has not only just heavily impacted on the development of the nation and it’s people, but also poses a far reaching effect on the daily life and the society. The consistence of speech and writing movement in South Korea can be dated back to the late 1910. We can conclude the intention of the movement with one simple phrase “to speak as you write”, which means you have to write exactly as you speak. Up until now, the word we speak and the words we write are the products of such movement. In the national modernisation development process. The consistence of speech and writing movement is a wide spread phenomenon. The Vernacular Movement in South Korea and similarly the Vernacular Chinese Movement in China. Similar movements also took place in Japan and the western countries. In the modernisation development, all these movements played an irreplaceable role in the countries and influenced it’s citizens and the societies. This article mainly uses materials such as newspapers and magazines to gain a more concrete understanding and to analyse the consistence of speech and writing movement in South Korea. Hence, understood the significance of the movement to the history and the social development process.
