An Experimental Study on Suggestion about the CVC Diffuser Shape for the Large Temperature Differential System
Abstract
Korea is one of the world's 10th largest consumer of energy consumption. Through "Energy Vision 2030 (2006)," Korea aims to reduce the use of fossil fuels with the goal of "Low Carbon and Green Growth". We are also developing energy-efficient devices and energy-saving air-conditioning systems to reduce energy consumption and prepare solution for economic growth.
Nowadays, people spend most of their times indoors and increased temperature by global warming cause high energy consumption rate. However, demand for cooling and heating energy is steadily increasing. Every year it make energy shortage problems despite various energy saving measures.
Energy consumption of buildings accounts for approximately 20% of total energy consumption in Korea, and more than 50% of building energy are used as cooling and heating energy and power energy. In order to reduce the this energy consumption, various technical system is used in order to be acceptable more and efficiently maintain the indoor environment. Among many technical system, the Large Temperature Differential System is known as saving energy system and many country in the United States, Europe and Japan use this system.
The Large Temperature Differential System supply lower air temperature than normal air conditioning system. Low supply air temperature cause a cold draft and nonuniform indoor air temperature distribution. So diffuser is played the important role among the air conditioner.
Diffuser for Large temperature differential system needs to maintained high diffusion at low air temperature and capacity. Diffused air flow through ceiling and it can reduce non-uniform indoor temperature with coanda effect.
This study proposed optimization model on Cold-air distribution system and evaluates diffusion performance in Cold-Air distribution system compared with general diffuser.
