Abstract

Sagisawa Megumu’s(鷺沢萠) literature addresses the nonmainstream life that was insufficient for the past. Through her literature, bring up ‘changing oneself(自己変革)’ as a topic between past and present, ideals and realities. Most of her literary work, main themes are identity of marginal man like a Korean resident in Japan. Through this literature, Sagisawa Megumu won the award, ‘Rookie of the year award in the literature(文學界新人賞)’, and ‘Award of kyoka Izumi(泉鏡花文学賞)’. Moreover, she became a candidate for ‘Prize of Ryūnosuke Akutagawa(芥川龍之介賞)’ and ‘Rookie of the year award of Noma literary(野間文芸新人賞)’ and ‘prize of yukio misima(三島由紀夫賞)’ several times. So got recognized her literary value as modern authoress of Japan. This article reveals the features of Sagisawa literature and figure out her identity. And this paper focuses on verifying the value of literature as texting itself. Because precious studies about Sagisawa literature concentrated on value of Korean Japanese literature. First of all, It is affirmed that ‘implicative meaning expressions’ in the most of her literature. It causes new perspectives of readers that her expressions presenting past and present, demarcation between ideal and realities and restoring to daily routine. When divided into three parts, former part of period, they were Japanese, in the middle, they realize the residence in Japan and the latter part of the period, they established the ethnicity. And I identified the remarkable alteration of literature forms. The literary works in the early period, several arrangements that can adjust the distance between author and work were used. But in the late period, it was changed that presenting author herself in her work. Relationship of family changed into relationship of people. And it changed male to female in addition, classical style of writing changed into refined and vibrant. And secondly, the word ‘circumstance(事情)’ is noticed. This word was used by intent in the trends of literature form by time-changing. Sagisawa’s father passed away in her youth and her family was ruined. Moreover, she realized that she is Korean Japanese when she came of age. When she came to Korea to study, she considered herself to Korean-Japanese. It was described as the word ‘circumstance’ that her family and life story in her literature. The author desired that ‘circumstance’ of the nonmainstream such as Korean-Japanese also accepted normally in the Japanese society as ordinary ‘circumstance’ whoever can have easily. Lastly, I examined the course of change comparing features between her early work “running boy(駆ける少年)” and her later work “hometown in spring(故郷の春)”, “The sky looking over glasses(眼鏡超しの空)”. The theme of father and family extended to people and nations, It appears ‘ethnicity(民族性)’ and ‘residing in Japan(在日性)’. Her own identity that presents ‘open view of the world’ can be found through this process. After Sagisawa realized herself Korean, she used materials for Korean -Japanese most of her works. However she had trouble in lack of material because of limited title ‘Korean-Japanese’. And she looks like experiencing a slump. Furthermore, she claimed ‘changing oneself’ but she was frustrated conflicting between the mainstream and nonmainstream, reality and ideal that wouldn’t narrow any more. She was promising modern authoress but these several ‘circumstance’s caused Sagisawa’s dilemma.
