A Study on the Success Factor of the Hanting Hotel
Abstract
Recent technological application in China is helpful to evolve Chinese hotel business industry globally. However, there are obvious differences between the traditional Chinese hotel business industry and the international hotel business industry. These differences mainly exist because of the unprecedented problems faced by hotel industry in China. In other words, the hotel business industry in China is at its no-frills stage of development.
On the other hand, the developed countries comprise more market share in the global hotel business industry compared to China. These facts harm the growth of the hotel business industry in China. Therefore, the present study focuses on the analysis of the Hanting hotel as a part of Chinese hotel business industry. The Hanting hotel is a famous hotel brand based in China. (a famous hotel brand based in China). This hotel was founded in 2005 and just in ten years the number of its branches increased up to 1,648 by 2014. The development of this hotel chain had a rapid progress even though it experienced many difficulties on the way.Analysis of Hanting hotel would be helpful to explore the nature of developments consistent with geography of an area. Hence, the present study analyzes the causes of success and failure in the development process of Hanting hotel. It would also find out the development status of this hotel.Summing up, China's hotel business industry has the potential to foster the development of overall business industry. It would also help to devise good methods and strategies in future.
The success factors of Hanting hotel have been divided into external and internal environment. The Internal environment includes three main components for content analysis: businessstrategy, ability to generate profits, and the manager's ability. On the external environment,the Chinese government policies have promoted the tourism and lodging industry policy. As a result,China’s per capita GDP has grown rapidly because of more growth in tourism sector.It has increased demand for tourism and hotels in China. Consequently, there are plenty of political and economic opportunities for Hanting hotels. On social ground, an increased share of population and middle class has expanded the range of diversity of demand. Additionally, the Internet and technological environment along with the development of information technology have also provided a better management effects to the Hanting hotel.
The study has focused on the analysis of the problems which include; the decline in the business performance, death of talent in management services, lack of security and health services, difficulties in the franchise management and mechanisms for maintenance and labour cost.
Strengthening of culture, creativity and talent into the current enterprise system, acceleration of transition, strengthening exchanges and cooperation with a designated hotel worldwide are measures which can help to resolve the problems within the Hanting hotel.
Combining the development process and status of the Hanting hotel, the key success factors can be derived to analyze problems and refer to as experiences of the hotel. With these, China's total business hotel would foster, and there would be development and expansion of the business.
