- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-efficacy and social support on job-seeking efficacy of Busan job seekers. Through this study, i seek ways to improve the job-seeking efficacy and to provide basic data of effective employment education by applying necessary job training factors.
The problem of this study is as follows.
First, Is there a difference in job-seeking efficacy depending on the individual characteristics of job seekers? Second, What are the effects of job seekers' self-efficacy on job-seeking efficacy? Third, What are the effects of job seeker's social support on job-seeking efficacy? Fourth, What are the effects of job seekers' self-efficacy and social support on job-seeking efficacy?
The subjects of this study were job seekers from five universities, one female labor development center, and one job seeker center for middle-aged people in Busan. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 23 statistical program frequency analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, multiple regression analysis.
The result of this study is as follows.
First, as a result of examining the difference of job-seeking efficacy according to personal characteristics of job seekers, there was no significant difference in job-seeking goals, but there was a significant difference in job-seeking motives. Among them, job seekers with a career duration of 15 years or more had the highest job-seeking efficacy.
Second, the effect of job seekers’ efficacy on job is the self-efficacy(sub-fact
ors: academic efficacy, self-regulated efficacy) had a significant effect on the job-seeking efficacy(sub-factors: job goal, job motivation) appear. Therefore, it is necessary to plan educational programs by analyzing the educational needs according to the characteristics of the learner(by age, career period, etc.) so as to improve the self–efficacy of the job seekers.
Third, as a result of examining the effect of social support of job seekers on job-seeking efficacy, only social support(sub-factor: evaluation support) has a significant effect on job-seeking efficacy(sub-factor: job motivation). Therefore, there is a need to improve job seekers' efficacy by providing objective and fair evaluation support through job-related mentoring or consulting to job seekers.
Fourth, as a result of examining the effect of job seekers' self-efficacy and social support on job-seeking efficacy, the self-efficacy(sub-factors: academic efficacy, self-regulation efficacy) and social support(sub-factors: evaluation support). Therefore, when developing a career education program for job seekers, they should be structured into programs that can improve academic efficacy, self-regulatory efficacy, and provide evaluative support. In particular, in order to improve the academic efficacy that has the greatest effect on the job–seeking efficacy, it is necessary to analyze the characteristics of the learners and to plan the employment education program considering their education needs.
