Characteristics of PM2.5 Concentration in Changwon City during the Precipitation
Abstract
In this study, the relationship between PM2.5 and meteorological factors is analyzed during the precipitation of Changwon city.
As the results, in summer, it has low PM2.5 concentration due to the washing effect with high precipitation. In winter, it is considered that PM2.5 concentration is increased due to an increase of anthropogenic sources by heating. The higher the wind speed, the lower the PM2.5 concentration due to the diffusion of pollutants. The wind direction influences the PM2.5 concentration depending on the surrounding land use. However, the effect of wind speed is greater than wind direction. PM2.5 had washing effect by washout than rainout. The PM2.5 concentration tends to decrease when the precipitation is constant than at high rainfall intensity. So, if precipitation continues, low PM2.5 concentration is maintained.
When PM2.5 concentration was analyzed according to wind direction, wind speed and rainfall intensity at the time of precipitation, wind speed had the biggest influence on PM2.5 concentration.
