Alternative Title
Indicator development Study for Safety Workability Evaluation of Excavator Operatirs
Abstract
As the demand for construction machinery increases, so does the demand for construction machinery drivers. As a result, the career, age, and tendency of operators are gradually increasing. However, in most construction sites, It is the current construction site to check only driver 's license without any measures and plans, and to put in the work immediately without confirming whether the driver has suitable career, work ability or inclinatio.
The purpose of this study is to develop an index for the evaluation of the safety capability of the excavator operator in order to prevent excavator accidents that cause the greatest number of disaster in the construction machinery. This index is intended to be applied to the construction site in the future, and aims to establish a safety and health management plan in the future construction site.
The method of the study is as follows. First, the past excavation example of the excavator and the precedent study are analyzed, and the items which can evaluate the work ability of the excavator operator and the supervisor are drawn out and written in the form of a checklist or a manual.
The questionnaire survey was conducted on 26 items, and the results were classified into 4 items such as safety work ability, safety work consciousness, field understanding ability and equipment management ability according to the importance of each item Different scores apply.
The statistical data used in the statistical analysis and data analysis were SPSS (Statistical Pakage for the Social Sciences) 21.0 (ver.).
1) First, frequency analysis (used to easily identify data values, generally used to identify demographic characteristics) was conducted on the general aspects of excavator operators and on-site safety managers and supervisors.
2) Second, technical statistics for the mean and standard deviation were conducted to confirm the importance of the safety task recognized by the operator, the on - site safety manager and the supervisor.
3) Third, the 5th grade weights were set according to the importance of safety work, and technical statistics for the mean and standard deviation were performed to confirm the safety work capability self - evaluation data of the excavator operator.
4) Fourth, high score is given according to the item that the excavator operator and manager are concurrently important, and the lower score is given to the contrary.
Finally, the score of four items such as safety work ability, safety work consciousness, field understanding ability, and equipment management ability from the questionnaire results are analyzed to find out the insufficient part of the work ability of the operator at this time, intensive safety education is needed for the items with low score the purpose of this study is to develop an indicator that can judge safety work capability of excavator operator and apply it in the construction site to provide more effective safety education to excavator operator before construction start. and this study can be used to find out the difference of perception of safety work between excavator operator and supervisor.
