Abstract
In Korea, the cartoons and animations, which are useful for information delivery and effective on study concentration ability, are used as learning materials in art subject since early 1960s. In art class, the learners not only appreciate the work by printed picture image but also can learn in natural education environment with various materials and experiences.
Among many kinds of animations, 'clay animation' is friendly in terms of its material that it is frequently used in popular television commercials and cartoon films. The students can not only learn the production process of clay animation but also naturally learn the use of new material 'clay mixed with oil' such as color mix true or sculpture.
This study is going to develop the production process of clay animation to the teaching guidance plan and also going to enforce the educational effect of clay animation. In chapter Ⅱ,it will discuss the overall definitions and kinds of animations and look for the characteristics of clay animation. Next ,in chapterⅢ, the effects of art education through clay animation are studied .Lastly, in chapter Ⅳ,the expected effects of the art education throughout the clay animation production class are studied.
Regarding current art subjects and animation teachings, this study is done to suggest new and effective teaching plans by using new materials and learning methods, and also it is done to suggest new learning guidance. Throughout the study, the educational effects of clay animation will be described, and liberal imaginations and creative expressions are expected to be expanded. Also, it is expected that this study will contribute to develop learning guidance program with interesting expressive ways of clay animation and general educational effects of it.
