영한사전 개선을 위한 영어동사 'win'의 명사연어와 한국어 번역 유형

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the collocations of the English verb 'win' and categorize the appropriate translations of 'win' for Korean students. It focuses on finding how to translate the English verb 'win' to Korean words. This study is based on the English corpus program "COCA" and used the Korean corpus program "KOKOMA" for translation. This study classifies COCA database ENTRIES by Korean translation in order of decreasing frequency. The results of this study indicate that 'win' should be translated to Korean in several different ways and could be an addition to an English-Korean dictionary. I hope this study helps Korean students understand the meaning and usage of the English verb 'win' more easily, and that in the future, more studies will deal with understanding collocations of words with complicated translations.
