육안평가를 통한 자동차 도장 외관 측정 지수 개발에 대한 연구

In limited automobile market, as competition between companies gets deepen, the technology of products becomes standardized. So it can't be a differencing element anymore and it just is a basic quality. Therefore basic quality combined with esthetic elements is required to achieve superiority in future automotive market.
The improvement of appearance quality can be a way to get the high quality car product. In order to evaluate the appearance of car, appearance measurement methods were required. Generally, these methods include distinctness of image DOI), gloss and orange peel (OP), etc.
Related researches were carried out by European Working Group(Orange peel) involved experts of automobile companies, coating companies and measuring equipment companies. They conducted researches and discussion for the reliability of the appearance quality and measurement methods. And other research groups carried out researches regarding the relationship between appearance and DOI of automobile, photograph and printer.
Currently, each automobile company has their own appearance measurement index to evaluate the painting surface quality of car body. Korean automobile companies are using the CF value (=0.15LU+0.35SH+0.5OP) as a measurement index that is used in the Ford company. As CF value increases appearance quality must increases linearly. But sometimes inconsistency is happened between CF value and appearance quality.
So this study focuses on developing a appearance measurement index that is more accurate than the CF value in reliability and reproducibility point of view.
In present study, the ranking of appearance quality for the painted specimen was decided using pair-wise comparison method and correlation analysis was conducted to find out the optimum appearance index (optimum combination ration of LU, SH and OP) in terms of color, generation, gender and measurement distance, etc. .
The result clearly indicated that the appearance index of optimum combination (LU:SH:OP=0.1:0.5:0.4) showed the highest consistency.
