빨갱이속 어류(망둑어과, 어상강)의 분류학적 재검토

Abstract

The genus Paratrypauchen has been established by Murdy (2008) based on following morphological combination: scaleless abdomen, emarginate pelvic fin, three anal-fin pterygiophores anterior to the first hemal spine (AP). Paratrypauchen include single species, P. microcephalus, which was originally reported by Bleeker (1860) based on specimens collected from Indonesia. P. microcephalus has extremely small eyes, reddish body, smooth frontal crest in head. Morphological similarity makes it difficult to distinguish between cogeneric species. In order to clarify taxonomic status of P. microcephalus from Korea, we investigated its molecular (16S and COI sequences) and morphometric (22measurements and 4 counts) variations based on 35 specimens collected from 4 locations in Korean waters between 2009 and 2019 using shrimp net and bottom trawl. Additionally, 5 specimens of P. microcephalus from Indonesia were borrowed from CSIRO for comparison. The results of molecular analysis showed the division of three distinct lineages in comb goby with interspecific genetic distance. Morphologically, two lineages of Korean comb goby also were separated by the number of vertebrae (37~39 in P. sp. 1 vs. 34~35 in P. sp. 2 vs. 35~36 in P. microcephalus), Body depth (8.7~10.9% in P. sp. 1 vs. 11.6~12.9% in P. sp. 2 vs. 12.0~13.8% in P. microcephalus), AP (2~4 in P. sp. 1 vs. 3 in P. sp. 2, P. microcephalus. 3). Therefore, Paratrypauchen spp. 1 - 2 were distinguished in morphological and molecular character, so it is considered undescribed species
