상담자가 지각하는 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 인식탐색 : 개념도 연구법을 활용하여

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to empirically confirm the perception of competent professional counselors perceived by beginner counselors and experienced counselors. For this purpose, the concept mapping method was used to visually confirm the participants' perception of a specific phenomenon by classifying concepts into meaningful categories, and the following research questions were set. First, what kind of counselor is a competent professional counselor perceived by beginner and skilled counselors, and second, how the dimension, cluster, and importance affect perception of beginner and skilled counselor. To study the concept map, a semantic sentence was derived based on the interview contents of 16 beginner counselors and 16 skilled counselors, and it was produced as a statement card, and then the 16 counselors were classified according to similarity, and the structured work was performed to name the classified categories. In addition, the importance of each statement to a competent professional counselor was evaluated. According to the results of the study, first, It was found that the perception of competent professional counselors is perceived in two dimensions, such as focusing on 'Professional Qualities' vs 'Human Qualities' and 'Counselor's Self-Development' vs 'Client Problem Solving'. Second, considering the distribution of statements on the map as a result of hierarchical cluster analysis and multi-dimensional scale analysis of categories chosen by study participants, four clusters of competent professional counselors were divided. Third, as a result of each statement's assessment of a competent professional counselor, an average of 3.97 was given across four clusters. This study collects the concepts of competent professional counselors reported through empirical studies and uses concept diagram methods that use both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the perception of competent professional counselors actually perceived by counselors in a phenomenological way. At the same time, quantitative analysis is meaningful in that it identifies the perception of competent professional counselors in their experience as level, group, and importance, and identifies differences in perception between beginner and skilled counselors. The research results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of the counselor's education program in the future, and can also be used as a reference for the adoption of components when developing questionnaire scale.

본 연구의 목적은 초심 상담자와 숙련된 상담자들이 지각하는 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 인식을 경험적으로 확인하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 연구 참여자가 직접 의미 있는 범주로 개념들을 분류함으로써 특정 현상에 대하여 참여자들의 인식을 시각적으로 확인할 수 있는 개념도(Concept Mapping)방법을 사용하였으며 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 초심상담자와 숙련상담자가 지각하는 유능한 전문상담사는 어떤 상담사인가, 둘째, 초심상담자와 숙련상담자의 인식에 차원, 군집, 중요도는 어떠한가이다. 개념도 연구를 위해 초심상담자와 숙련 상담자 16인의 인터뷰내용을 바탕으로 의미문장을 도출하고 이를 진술문 카드로 제작하여 다시 상담자 16인에게 유사성에 따라 분류하게 하고 분류된 범주를 명명하는 구조화 작업을 하였다. 또한 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 각 진술문의 중요도를 평정하도록 하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 첫째, '상담자의 전문적 자질 (Professional Qualities)대 인간적 자질(Human Qualities)'차원과 ‘상담자의 자기 성장에 초점(Counselor's Self-Generation Focused)대 '내담자의 문제 해결에 초점(Client Problem-Solving Focused)'차원과 같이 2개의 차원으로 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 인식을 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 위계적 군집분석 결과와 연구 참여자들이 선택한 범주의 수 및 다차원 척도 분석 결과로서 지도상의 진술문들의 분포를 고려하였을 때 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 4개의 군집으로 구분되었다. 셋째, 각 진술문들이 유능한 전문상담사에 대해 평정한 결과 4개의 군집에 걸쳐 평균 3.97의 평정치가 부여되었다. 본 연구는 경험적 연구들을 통해 보고되어온 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 개념들을 종합하고 질적인 방법과 양적인 방법을 함께 사용하는 개념도 방법을 활용함으로서 실제로 상담자가 지각하는 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 인식을 현상학적으로 탐색하였다. 동시에 양적 분석을 통해 그 경험에 녹아 있는 유능한 전문상담사에 대한 인식을 차원과 군집, 중요도로 확인하고 초심상담자와 숙련상담자의 인식 차이를 확인한다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 본 연구의 연구결과는 상담자의 인식탐색으로 추후 상담자 교육 프로그램 개발 시 기초자료로 활용함으로써 실무자들의 필요에 맞는 교육을 제공할 수 있으며, 척도 개발 시 구성 요소를 채택하는데 참고자료로도 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
