- Abstract
- In the case of dissolution and refining fluxes which are currently widely used, BaCl2 is the main component. In the case of BaCl2, it plays an important role to improve the proportion of flux, but it is expected that it will be difficult to use the flux containing BaCl2 due to environmental problems and government regulations. Therefore, this study aims to develop a flux for BaCl2-free pure magnesium refining as an eco-friendly alternative flux. In addition, the reuse possibility of flux by the reprocessing of the sludge generated during the refining process is also studied. We believe that the development of eco-friendly flux that will replace toxic flue gas will solve the environmental problems and the restriction of the use according to future government regulations. In addition, import substitution and cost reduction through the localization of flux can be effective, and it is expected that the quality of flux through domestic production will be equalized. The reuse of the sludge as a flux reduces the burden on the environment, and the reduction of the processing cost is also expected. Therefore, we have studied BaCl2-free alternative fluid using chloride, fluoride, bromide, which are relatively low toxicity, and high cost and low cost components, which can replace BaCl2 composition. In order to investigate the properties of the new flux, we evaluated the properties of the new flux and compared the properties of the new flux with those of the new flux. Also, refining experiment of AZ31 alloy was carried out with three new fluxes with excellent physical properties, and composition, phase and microstructure analysis were also carried out.
